Dear Austin & Michelle: Mom has the funniest sunflower on her desk. It sings the song "you are my sunshine." And, when we say "sings," we mean to say that it has a face. And, its’ eyes light up. It is sooooooooo funny. Do you know that a Louisiana governor is the person who made the song popular? Isn’t that weird? His name was ... hmm... We bet your mom and dad know. Do you know who the governor is now? We wanted to read more about suflowers. So, we went to this really cool website this past week. Did you know that sunflowers can grow to be as tall as your house! And, you know the middle part of the sunflower that’s usually brown? Some people call that the HEAD.  Did you know that on some sunflowers the HEAD grows as wide as the doorway into your bedroom?
