the dog formally known as "Mandy"

Allo!

We formally adopted Andi on Saturday, March 13, 2004. She is an 11 pound Yorkshire Terrier who is approximately 6-years of age. She was rescued from a shelter by an individual associated with United Yorkie Rescue. Andi is spunky, friendly, and ...............

POTTY TRAINED!

Yes! Between Hobbes' diapers and Andi's cooperation, your floors and furniture are finally safe with us. Andi loves her doggie house, but also loves to snuggle, sit in our laps (she's with me now as I build this webpage), and play. Boy, does she like to play. The house is littered with her toys, which she carries all over the house as she runs to and fro.

new best buds!

Another Elvis fan!

Don't let the angelic look fool you. She's got a boisterous spirit. She's also a fabulous watchdog. No stranger is safe coming through our doors.

We received LOTS and LOTS of kisses!

It's a bird...
It's a plane...
hmmmm...
It's Dad, holding a treat!

Andi LOVES her new fenced yard! Lots of space to run around.

The Yorkie book said that Yorkies are easier to obedience train than Westies. Both dogs were asked to sit while we took their pictures. Of course, we had to hold a bribe in sight..... but, as you look at the next two pictures, why don't you be the judge on who is actually obedience trained.

YEP! Hobbes had to be moved BACK prior to every shot.

Sometimes more than once.

The remaining pictures were taken by Foster Mom Susan, who took such fantastic care of Andi before we adopted her!

Hello There, My name is Dianne. I'm with United Yorkie Rescue. I wanted to drop you a note and tell you how delightful your webpage is on Mandy/Andi - adorable! We will use one of those adorable pix for the Happy Tails page of our website. Susan said that you are just the perfect family for this perfect little pup. Mandy/Andi really stole Susan's heart and she vowed that she would stay at her house until the absolutely positively perfect home was found - and it waas!

I want to thank you also for coming to UYR to find your precious little girlie. It's so easy for folks to run to the strip mall and to the pet stores/puppy mills, and you went the extra mile to seek out an older pup that really needs a home - one that has had a "checkered past" so-to-speak. Please continue to spread the word about UYR and about rescue in general. There are rescue groups for ALL BREEDS of dogs - all one has to do is to type the breed and the word "rescue" in their search engine.

Once again, congrats on your adoption of Mandy - and please keep in touch with UYR and Susan with updates on Andi's adventures with Mr. Hobbs! We LOVE updates and we love happy endings! Oh! We always are in need of foster homes and volunteers - something to think about?!

We have just gone to the website and saw the newest addition to the family. She is a cutie, and Frank and I both said she's a lucky little dog to get to be adopted by you. She's got it made. Who did the pictures of the whole family? Very good pictures!!! Frank's comment about you,Mike, was that you're a handsome fellow. Of course, Carla, you know what he thinks about you. One of his favorites!!!

Those are very cute! Looks like andi (formerly known as Mandy) is fitting in well at the Mike=-Carla manor. The girls loved the pictures. Who is that funny man sitting next to Elvis?

I think it is cruel to change her name on her as an adult. How will she learn to spell the new one??
